Review the terms for WebP, PNG and JPG conversion: image rights, supported formats, file limits, transparency and quality. Keep originals and check your results.

These conditions describe the actual local image converter. They do not require a payment or account, transfer image rights or override mandatory rights.

These documents describe WebP to PNG Online, a browser-based service for converting still WebP, PNG and JPG images. For questions about these policies, privacy choices or the converter, use the support address on the Contact page. Describe the issue without sending private images, filenames or image metadata.
The sections below explain actual image processing, browser storage and optional privacy choices. Cookie agreement controls optional purposes; it does not accept the Terms or grant rights to your images. You can revisit Cookie Settings and contact support without sharing an image or account credentials.
The service converts still WebP, PNG and JPG/JPEG through six registered tools in your browser. JPG and JPEG are the same supported format. Animated WebP and APNG are rejected, as are unsupported inputs such as HEIC, AVIF, SVG, PDF or archive imports. This release does not offer background removal, resizing, an upload API, server storage, accounts or paid subscriptions. A format change is encoding, not permission to claim broader support.
You must have the right to process the selected material and use the result. You retain your existing rights in your files. The site does not acquire rights to publish, sell or train models on them, and local processing does not require a server-storage license. Converting an image does not change copyright or license restrictions attached to it. Keep originals and any permission records separately.
Do not abuse the service, deliberately attack its infrastructure, bypass resource limits or use the site to infringe others’ rights. Device and workplace rules still apply. No access to another person’s files is granted by these Terms. The website’s code, illustrations and brand have their own rights; access to the tool does not transfer them or authorize misleading affiliation claims.
JPG does not preserve transparency: transparent pixels are composited onto the background you choose, white by default. PNG preserves decoded pixels losslessly but can be much larger after WebP or JPG. A new PNG does not restore detail lost in an earlier lossy export or remove an opaque background. JPG and this tool’s WebP color encoding use lossy compression. Compare fine edges, text, alpha and color before relying on a result.
The converter accepts still images within all of the limits below. They are admission limits, not performance promises. A queue can be accepted and later produce a larger result that cannot be retained or packed into one archive. Save individual completed files when a ZIP is unavailable.
MiB means 1,048,576 bytes. A ZIP also has a working-memory limit, so the byte cap alone does not determine availability.
| Resource | Maximum |
|---|---|
| Files in one queue | 10 |
| Each source file | 20 MiB |
| Total source / total retained results | 100 MiB / 100 MiB |
| Pixels in each image | 16,000,000 |
| Width or height | 8192 px |
| ZIP download | 64 MiB; 32 MiB in smaller-limit mode |
The output is a newly encoded image. Original EXIF, GPS and XMP records are not copied; an encoder may add its own technical fields. Orientation is applied to the image rather than relying on the original orientation tag in the download. Keep the original if you need camera settings, capture dates or an archival record.
Working pixels use an sRGB canvas where supported. Exact source ICC profiles, HDR information and 16-bit precision are not retained. A screen that looks similar is not proof of identical color data. For calibrated print, scientific measurement or preservation of high-bit-depth originals, use a workflow designed for those requirements.
A successful download is the start of the final check. Open the output in the application that will actually use it. A slide editor, upload form and image viewer can handle the same file differently. Checking the intended destination catches problems that the browser preview alone cannot reveal.
After you choose, paste or drop a supported file, its bytes, filename and pixels are read locally. Native browser decoding, worker canvases and the self-hosted WebP WASM codec run on your device. ZIP creation also happens locally. Source files, output files, alpha, EXIF/GPS/XMP, canvas pixels, thumbnails, clipboard contents, job identifiers, blob/data URLs and ZIP contents are excluded from server, analytics and advertising requests.
The page requests its HTML, styles, illustrations, scripts, codecs and a first-party regional-policy response. These ordinary requests disclose connection information to the infrastructure. Local conversion therefore does not mean that opening the website creates no network traffic. No upload endpoint or server image store is part of this release.
Operation depends on a compatible browser, available device memory and access to the site assets. A damaged file, blocked codec or resource limit may prevent a conversion. Keep originals and save results; this site is not a backup service. Availability and features may change. We do not promise uninterrupted operation, identical encoder output on all browsers or fitness for every professional task. Any warranty or liability limitations apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law and do not exclude mandatory consumer or data-protection rights.

Advertising is disabled in this release; future advertising requires a verified provider/CMP integration and clear disclosure before activation. A consent button governs optional processing, not a license to your files or acceptance of these Terms. For questions about these Terms, use the support address on the Contact page.
